At Lone Oak Veterinary Clinic our veterinarians and staff are dedicated to providing the best and most compassionate care possible for our patients. We offer a variety of services for our large animal patients. This page describes many of our large animal services. If you have any questions, or would like to schedule an appointment, please call the clinic.

Equine Services

At Lone Oak we offer a wide variety of equine medical and surgical services. Both in-clinic and ambulatory services are available. For many procedures it is preferable to have your horse brought to the clinic where there is access to equipment and trained staff to assist the veterinarian. If you are unable to trailer your animal please call the clinic for the availability of ambulatory service in your area. Equine Preventive Health Care

We provide health exams, prepurchase exams, health certificates, vaccinations, dental services and other procedures to maintain the health of your horse and prevent disease.

Diagnosis and Treatment of Equine Diseases and Disorders

At Lone Oak we use the latest equipment to examine and evaluate your horse. We utilize digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy and in-clinic blood testing equipment to quickly and accurately diagnose our equine patients. When necessary we send samples to an outside lab for testing. In order to effectively treat your horse we may send medications for you to administer to your animal. In some cases, horses may need to be hospitalized. We have recently constructed a new 8 stall barn bringing our total to 33 stalls to house your horse in comfort during his/her hospital stay.

Equine Surgical Services

We have a fully equipped equine surgical facility and have performed a wide variety of equine surgeries. We recently acquired a new anaesthetic machine and we use the latest anaesthetic monitoring equipment to ensure that surgical procedures are as safe as possible for your horse. We offer arthroscopic surgery, colic surgery, castration, periostial stripping and many other surgical procedures.

Equine Reproductive Services

We perform the full range of breeding services including pre-breeding exams, uterine cultures, artificial insemination, pregnancy determination, stallion collection, and embryo transfer. We also offer post-foaling exams and examination of your new foal. We recommend that newborn foals be tested for antibody levels approximately 12 hours after birth.

Food Animal Services

Lone Oak Veterinary Clinic offers complete dairy and beef herd health services. We also provide veterinary care for small ruminants. The majority of our work with cattle is done in the field, but we prefer the small ruminants to visit the clinic. Please direct questions regarding food animal services to 559-732-4818.
